Lich Lords is a roguelite, fantasy and action game.
In Lich Lords, we bring a skeleton—which has lost its human form—to life. In the game, these are called ‘Liches’. Our aim is to claim the ‘Lich Lord’ crown and become the most powerful.
The gameplay is highly varied. Lich Lords aims to combine the gameplay mechanics and fundamentals found in multiple games into a single title. The combat system, health bars, stamina, and so on are all designed with Dark Souls as a reference. Every time you die, you have to start over. This is where you can see the roguelite concept at work. These elements are seamlessly integrated into the game. There are two camera views in the game: one is isometric, and the other is third-person. You can switch between these cameras during combat. The class selection system, common in Souls-like games, is also present here. You can create any character you wish, with your chosen class, attributes and abilities. The game offers players a lovely sense of freedom here. In particular, the game’s roguelite structure significantly increases its replayability. Die, respawn, become stronger.
However, there’s a certain sluggishness to the combat feedback. Fighting doesn’t feel particularly satisfying; you don’t quite get the full sense of impact. The game also features companion units that guide you along the way. Sometimes these companions get stuck, making it difficult to find your way.
If you’re looking for a Souls-like roguelite, this is perhaps the only truly playable and well-crafted example of the genre.
